Orono, Maine -- Fifteen members of the University of Maine men's ice hockey team have been named to the 2017-18 Hockey East All-Academic Team, as announced by the league on Thursday, July 12. Each student-athlete achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or better in each of the two academic periods during which he was actively competing.
Additionally,
Cameron Spicer was one of four who earned the honor of being named Hockey East's Top Scholar-Athlete, compiling a perfect 4.0 grade point average (GPA) for the season. For his efforts, Spicer was recognized as one of six on the Hockey East All-Academic All-Star Team.
Sam Becker and
Cedric Lacroix were each honored to the All-Academic Team for the third time in their careers.
