ORONO, Maine - Jakub Sirota, a defenseman from the Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), will begin attending the University of Maine in the spring semester and will finish the 2018-19 hockey season with the men's hockey team.

Sirota played 57 regular season games with the Brahmas and put up four goals and 26 assists.

Prior to his time with the Brahmas, the Prerov, Czech Republic native played over 50 games for the Czech Republic national team and was listed on the NHL's Central Scouting List.
