BOSTON, Mass—Tereza Vanisova was named Hockey East Player of the Week Monday after a four point weekend at Quinnipiac.
Vanisova score the overtime game winning goal on Friday after scoring the first goal on a power play five minutes into the second period.
The junior from Strakonice, Czech Republic continued her offense with an assist on the opening goal Saturday. She added her third goal of the weekend on a shorthanded breakway as she cleared three defenders and chipped a backhanded shot in.
Vanisova led the Black Bears offense last season with 16 goals and 46 points while setting a program record for single-season assists with 30. The last Maine Player of the Week honoree was
Brooke Stacey on February 26.
Maine returns to the ice on Friday, hosting Sacred Heart for a two game series this weekend. Puck drop for both games is 2 p.m.
