WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Hockey East announced Monday that University of Maine freshman forward Jacob Schmidt-Svejstrup has been named the league's Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week after he recorded a goal and two assists during the Black Bears' two weekend victories over St. Lawrence.
 
The Charlottelund, Denmark native recorded his first collegiate point in Friday night's 3-1 victory over the Saints. His first collegiate goal also almost came Friday night, but the forward fired his shot off the crossbar.
 
Schmidt-Svejstrup wasted little time finding the back of the net in the weekend's second game, as he scored 00:31 into Saturday's tilt. The freshman also tallied an assist in the 4-1 win to finish the weekend with one goal and two assists for a total of three points.
 
The Black Bears travel to Minnesota Duluth to take on the Bulldogs this Friday and Saturday night, October 19th/20th. Puck drop is schedule for 8:07 pm EST both nights.
