BOSTON – Led by
Aaron Willingham's 42
nd place finish, the Maine Black Bears men's cross country team competed at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown, hosted by Boston College.
Willingham crossed the finish line in 25:17, averaging a 5:06 mile.
Daniel Lesko also finished within the top-100 runners, placing 98
th with a time 26:02.
Simon Powhida finished just three seconds later, for 102
nd place.
Senior
Logan Moses ran a time of 26:49 on the day, while freshman
John Hassett finished his first Battle in Beantown race with a time of 27:02.
156 total runners ran the 8 kilometer course from 18 different schools. Syracuse took home the crown, while Illinois took second place. Indiana, Brown, and Boston University round out the top five teams.
Maine will have a week off before heading back to Boston on October 7
th to race in the New England Championships.
