ORONO, Maine - Freshman goaltender Loryn Porter was honored with her first Women's Hockey East Pro-Ambitions Rookie of the Week, after helping defeat No. 10 Robert Morris (RMU) in a 5-2 victory on Saturday afternoon. 

Porter stopped 38 shots against RMU in her first collegiate start to help the Black Bears grab their first win over the Colonials since 2014. She not only captured her first win, but also saw her first time on the ice as a Black Bear. The rookie held off RMU from scoring into the third period. This win was the second of the season against a nationally ranked opponent for Maine.

The women's ice hockey team will be hosting Boston University for their first Hockey East conference game of the season. Puck is set to drop at 2:00 p.m. on Friday afternoon.
