Orono, Maine -- Maine Women's Ice Hockey's
Carly Jackson has been awarded this week's Pro-Ambitions Hockey Rookie of the Week honors by Hockey East for her performance this past weekend. She saw a total of 36 shots in which she saved 34 of them with a win against #5 Boston College Saturday in Auburn.
Friday afternoon against Merrimack, Jackson did not get a decision but came into the game in relief in the 2nd period and stopped the remaining 6 shots the Warriors sent her way.
Against the #5 ranked Eagles on Saturday she started the game and stopped 28 of 30 shots in her first career victory for the Black Bears, ending Boston College's 52-game Hockey East Undefeated Streak, the longest in Hockey East history.Â
Jackson and the Black Bears will be back in action October 28th in Providence, and October 30th in Orono at 2pm for their Halloween-Eve game which will include a costume contest for fans.
