
#1 Boston College Skates by Women's Ice Hockey, 6-0

CHESTNUT HILL, Massachusetts --- The University of Maine women's ice hockey team lost to #1 Boston College 6-0 at Kelley Rink Friday afternoon. Maine falls to 10-15-3 on the season, while #1 Boston College improves to 28-1-1.
Boston College started the scoring with a goal from Dana Trivigno at (9:48) in the first period. Toni Ann Miano found Trivigno who had snuck past the Maine defenders. Trivigno's one-timer beat Meghann Treacy (Lake Peakskill, New York) glove side high to give her squad the 1-0 lead. Kristyn Capizzano was also credited with an assist on the loan goal of the frame.
Kenzie Kent added to the Eagles lead at (17:37) in the second period. Alex Carpenter used a few smooth stick moves to weave her way through the Black Bear defense and lead Kent with a pass. Kenzie Kent gathered the puck and wristed a shot past Treacy. Haley Skarupa had the secondary assist.
The Eagles added a third goal at (00:50) in the third period. Toni Ann Miano picked up a rebound off Kenzie Kent's shot and scored her second goal of the season. Alex Carpenter had her second assist of the day on the play.
Kali Flanagan scored the fourth goal of the game at (2:14). Dana Trivigno helped out with an assist. Haley Skarupa's power play goal at (7:54) extended the lead to 5-0. Dana Trivigo and Alex Carpenter each had an assist on the goal. Haley McLean ended the afternoon with a goal at (19:52). Meghan Grieves and Danielle Doherty had the two assists on the play.
Meghann Treacy saved 39 of 45 shots on goal, and Katie Burt saved 9 of 9 shots on goal. The Black Bears were 0-2 on the power play, while the Eagles scored one goal in six power play opportunities.
The Black Bears return to action February 14st at Boston College. Puck drop is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
