
Men's Basketball Wins Second-Straight, Downs Central Conn. St.

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. -- Kevin Little led all scorers with 19 points as the University of Maine men's basketball team defeated Central Conn. St., 81-74, on Sunday afternoon.
Till Gloger added 15 points and five rebounds while Ilija Stojiljkovic pulled down 11 boards. Maine outshot CCSU 48% to 37%, outrebounded CCSU 47-40, and had significant contributions off the bench as all 10 players scored, including 25 bench points.
The first half began evenly matched as Maine and CCSU exchanged leads. Just as CCSU got hot and started to pull ahead, the Black Bears quickly shut down their offense for the final six minutes of the half, heading to the locker room after a 16-1 run and a nine point lead. Little paced Maine in the first half with 11 points, and the Black Bears outrebounded CCSU 28-18, including seven from Stojiljkovic.
Maine extended the lead to double-digits early in the second half as Gloger used his post moves to reach double digit scoring. As the second half went on, CCSU chipped away at Maine's lead, eventually taking back the lead with 4:30 remaining in regulation. Maine quickly regained the lead and held on down the stretch, shooting 64% from the free throw line (18-28).
The Black Bears return home to take on Army on December 2nd at 7pm at the Cross Center in Bangor.
