
Gilmour Leds Maine to 1-0 Win Over Hockey East Rival Northeastern

BOSTON, Massachusetts—The University of Maine Women's Ice Hockey team closed its two game road trip with a 1-0 win against Northeastern University at Matthews Arena Saturday afternoon. Maine improves to 4-5-2 on the season, while Northeastern falls to 2-4-3.
Kristin Gilmour (Millgrove, Ontario) scored what ended up being the only goal of the game at 11:02 in the first period. Brooke Stacey (Kahnawake, Quebec) and Morgan Sakundiak (Calgary, Alberta) each had an on the play.
Mariah Fujimagari (Markham, Ontario) and Chloe Desjardins kept the game scoreless throughout the second and third period despite 34 combined shots on goal. Fujimagari finished with 20 saves for the Black Bears, while Desjardins finished with 28 saves. The shutout was Fujimagari's first of her career. Maine was 0-2 on the power play, and Northeastern was scoreless in five opportunities.
Maine returns to action November 7th at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
