Maine Field Hockey Hosts Yale In Game to Benefit Melanoma Research

ORONO, Maine - The Maine field hockey team will host the Yale Bulldogs today at UMaine Field Hockey Complex with a special goal, other than to win the game. The Black Bears for the past month have been fundraising and raising awareness for Melanoma research. Today's game is the culmination of that hard work.
The field hockey team has spent the better part of a month selling raffle tickets for prizes that range from gift cards to other donations from local businesses with all proceeds going to melanoma research. In total the Black Bears have raised $5,000 for the melanoma foundation of New England.
At halftime of today's game the team will draw and select who will win the prizes. Those attending games will still have the opportunity to donate as well as put in for the raffle. For those that are unable to attend the game, you can donate at the website listed below:
