Maine Swimming and Diving Falls to Bryant University.

ORONO, Maine- The University of Maine men's and women's swimming and diving teams continued their season against Bryant University on Friday night. The women fell to Bryant 163-99 and the men were defeated 147-115.
Maine had some strong finishes for both the men and women. On the men's side David Vittori (South Berwick, Maine) won the 1000-yard freestyle (10:08.40) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:53.37) followed by teammate Cody Lachance (Winslow, Maine) in second (5:03.68). Matt England (Bangor, Maine) had two first place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke (53.08) and the 200-yard backstroke (1:58.75).
John Carlucci (Danbury, Conn.) added a win in the 200-yard butterfly (2:00.39) while Sergey Terrio (Oakland, Maine) touched for second place (2:01.32). Carlucci placed third in the 200-yard backstroke (2:00.41) and won the 200-yard IM (1:59.54). Terrio picked up a win in the 100-yard butterfly (53.36) followed by teammate Cameron Dwyer (Orono, Maine) in third place (54.34).
Ryan Fahey had strong showings with two third place finishes in the 200-yard IM (2:04.98) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:17.83).
On the women's side Erica Smrcina (North Falmouth, Mass.) had another strong meet finishing first in the 200-yard butterfly (2:08.88) and the 100-yard butterfly (57.84). Lauren Dwyer (Orono, Maine) had strong finishes with a second place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (25.11) and the 100-yard freestyle (54.66).
Naja Harvey (Orono, Minn.) added two wins in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.67) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:28.68). Shannon Bender (Cumberland, R.I.) touched for second place in the 200-backstroke (2:10.76) and added a second place finish in the 200-yard IM (2:15.31).
The Black Bears continue their season against Brown on Saturday Nov.16th.
