Boston University slips by Maine 4-2.

BOSTON, Mass.— The University of Maine women's ice hockey team lost to Boston University 4-2 on Sunday afternoon.
BU took the lead early in the game when Juron Jordan scored a goal on a pass from Rebecca Russo at 4:29 in the first. Rebecca Russo scored again to extend the lead to 2-0 BU at 17:15 in the first period.
BU outshot the Black Bears 8-5 in the first period.
Maine narrowed the lead at 3:28 in the second period when senior Kelly McDonald (Ancaster, Ontario) scored her second goal of the season to make it 2-1. The Black Bears held BU scoreless in the second period.
The Terriers shot the puck in the net late in the third period when Kaleigh Fratkin scored a goal at 12:17 in the third. Maine answered with a goal from freshman Emilie Brigham her second of the season (Anoka, MN) on a pass from Abbey Cook (Fairpoint, N.Y.) at 14:32.
BU scored on a power play when Samantha Sutherland slid the puck by Maine goalie Mariah Fujimagari (Markham, Ontario) at 18:02 in the third.
The Black Bear were outshot 35-20 by the Terriers.
Maine fell to 0-7-3 on the season, while BU improved to 9-1-1.
Fujimagari had 31 saves for the Black Bears. Terrier goalie Kerrin Sperry had 18 stops.
The Black Bears continue their season on Nov. 16th and 17th at Alfond Arena against Vermont.
