Maine Women's Ice Hockey Falls to Boston College, 5-1

BOSTON, Mass. The University of Maine Women's ice hockey team lost to the BC Eagles 5-1 on Sunday night , the first conference game in the 2013-14 season. Senior Brianne Kilgour (Hamilton, Ontario) scored Maine's goal in the third period.
The Black Bears battled holding the eagles to a 2-0 lead at the end of the first period.
The Eagles struck early with a goal from freshman Andie Anastos (Farmington Hills, Mich.) 5:40 into the first period.
The Eagles scored again when freshman, Kristyn Capizzano (Oakville, Ontario) put one by Maine goalie Meghann Treacy on a pass from sophomore Lexi Bender, 17:06 into the first period.
The Eagles struck again late in the second period when Haley Skarupa knocked the puck in on a pass from Taylor Waslk at 16:18 into the second period.
The Black Bears started off the third period with a goal when senior Brianne Kilgour (Hamilton, Ontario) knocked the puck in on a pass from junior Hailey Browne (Oakville, Ontario)
Boston College Haley McLean scored a goal on a power play at 8:59 into the third period on a pass from Haley Skarupa, who than got her own goal at 10:38 into the third period to end the game with a 5-1 final score.
