Men's Basketball Falls at Boston University

BOSTON, Mass. – The University of Maine men's basketball team fell at Boston University by the score of 67-54 on Thursday at Case Gymnasium in Boston, Mass. Maine is now 11-12 overall and 5-7 in America East play while Boston University goes to 14-13 and 10-3 in league play. Maine was led by its America East Player of the Game Jon McAllian (Bangor, Maine) who scored a career-high 12 points.
The Terriers opened the game on a 9-to-2 run before Justin Edwards made a nice spin move down the lane for a layup
Boston University scored the next eight points, but Andrew Rogers (Philadelphia, Pa.) had a nice drive to the bucket, shielding a defender while laying it up to break the run.
The Terriers caught fire and took a 26-12 lead with juts under four minutes left but McAllian drained a three from the top of the arc and after a BU bucket, Rogers hit another three from the same spot.
BU made a basket, but McAllian hit another trifecta making it 30-21 going into halftime.
McAllian had six points to lead Maine in the first half. Mike Allison (Lynden, Ontario) added four points and five rebounds.
Maine shot 27.6 percent in the first half while Boston University shot 39.4 percent.
The Terriers made 5-of-6 shots to open the second half, taking a 44-25 lead.
Maine battled back behind McLemore, who made a layup and three-pointer to spur a 7-to-nothing run and make it 44-32 with under 14 minutes to play.
Maine made it a 10-point game on McAllian's deep three-pointer, and following an Allison free throw a short time later, Maine was only down 55-47 with 4:09 left.
However, the Terriers were able to get a couple stops and made free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
Allison finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds while Rogers added eight points and four assists.
