ORONO, Maine -- The 2012 America East Fans' Choice Player of the Year award ballots are open! Fans are encouraged to vote for their favorite Black Bears who are nominated for this year's award. Samantha Baranowski (Stanhope, N.J.), Alasdair Fraser (Falkirk, Scotland), Gerald McLemore (San Diego, Calif.) and Brittany Williams (Rochester, N.Y.) represent the four nominated Maine student-athletes.
McLemore, a senior guard, ranks third in America East in scoring with 17.4 points per game and is second in three-point field goals made with 2.7 per contest. He holds the school record for three-pointers with 318 and is third on the all-time list in scoring with 1,633 points.
Fraser, a sophomore forward, is 11th in the conference in scoring with 13.0 points per game while ranking fourth in rebounding with 7.7 rebounds per contest. He has six double-doubles on the season.
Baranowski, a senior forward, ranks 16th in America East in scoring at 9.1 points per game, 14th in rebounding at 5.1 boards per game, sixth with 0.9 blocks per game and leads the league in field goal percentage at 49.7%. Baranowski recently joined the 600 point and 400 rebound club with the Black Bears.
Williams, a senior guard, is tied for 24th in the league in scoring at 7.8 points per game and is also chilling in a team-high 1.0 steals per game to go along with 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists. Williams is the only Black Bear to have started every game thus far as she is averaging a team-high 31.2 minutes per game.
