Swimming and Diving Release 2010-11 Schedule

ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine swimming and diving teams have released their schedule for the upcoming 2010-11 season. The Black Bear women kick things off on Saturday, Oct. 16 with a 2 p.m. meet against Central Conn. State University and Sacred Heart in New Britain, Conn. The men's team will open up when they join the women for a meet on the following Saturday, Oct. 23 at 1:30 against Boston University and Bryant in Boston, Mass.
The teams will then travel to take on Bryant on Friday, Oct. 29 and then face off against URI the following day. A time for the URI meet has yet to be determined.
Maine will host Stony Brook on Nov. 6 at 11 p.m. in the Black Bears' first home meet of the season. The following Saturday, Nov. 13, Maine will head back out on the road to Keene, N.H. where they will meet up with America East foe Vermont and Keene State.
The Black Bears continue things on the road when they compete in the URI Invitational Dec. 3-4 before swimming against Bates College in Lewiston, Maine on Dec. 11.
Maine will hold its Winter Training in West Palm Beach, Fla. from Dec. 30-Jan. 8 before returning home for a pair of meets. The Black Bears will host Providence College on Jan. 15 and Bowdoin College the following Saturday, Jan. 22 for Maine's final home meet of the 2010-11 season.
On Jan. 28-29, Maine will travel to compete in the Dartmouth Invitational in Hanover, N.H. The Dartmouth Invitational marks the final regular season meet for the men's squad. The women will finish things up on the road at America East opponent New Hampshire on Feb. 4.
The America East Championships are scheduled to run from Feb. 17-20 at the Germantown Aquatic Center in Baltimore, Md.
