Samantha Wheeler, a fourth generation UMaine student-athlete), began her current role in the athletic department in the summer of 2023.
Prior to her current role with academic support, Wheeler worked in the athletics department as the director of women's basketball operations and assistant equipment manager. After those stints, Wheeler worked in student life at UMaine as a career counselor, STEM/Health Professions, and academic in the academic support center in the college of NSFA at UMaine.
Wheeler spent a short stint as a health professions advisor at Stetson University before returing to UMaine in her current role.
A member of the M Club Board, Wheeler was a member of the UMaine women's basketball team from 2008-12. Wheeler earned her B.A. in psychology and M. Ed in student development in higher education from UMaine.
