James O'Hagan

James O'Hagan will be entering his second season with the Black Bears in 2026 where he will serve as the run game coordinator and offensive line coach. In 2025, he served as the offensive live coach.

In 2025, the Black Bears allowed only 18 sacks (1.5 per game) on the season including not allowing a sack in three-straight games against Merrimack, Elon and Stony Brook. As a result of the strong season by the o-line, Anthony Iliano was named to the CAA All-Conference Second Team on the offensive line and for Sincere Baines (3rd Team) at running back. Rashawn Marshall was named a Phil Steele Freshman All-American at running back as well.

Prior to arriving in Orono, O'Hagan spent coaching stints at Long Island University, Florida Atlantic University, the University at Buffalo.

While at Long Island, O'Hagan served as offensive line coach for the 2024 season where he mentored a unit which ranked second in pass protection, according to Pro Football Focus. In his one year with the Sharks, O'Hagan mentored a pair of All-Northeast Conference honorees.

Prior to his time at Long Island, O'Hagan spent the 2023 season as an offensive line graduate assistant at Florida Atlantic after a two-year stop as an offensive line graduate assistant as his alma mater, Buffalo.

O'Hagan, a four-year letterwinner at Buffalo, made 50 consecutive starts along the offensive line for the Bulls. A three-year captain, O'Hagan earned All-MAC first team honors at center in 2018.

After his collegiate playing career, O'Hagan spent time in camp with the New York Giants before playing one season for the DC Defenders of the XFL.
