IN 2011–12: Will serve as an assistant captain.

IN 2010–11: Named Hockey East Player of the Month in October... Set a school record when he scored a pair of goals just 10 seconds apart at Michigan State (10/15)... Saw action in all 36 games for the Black Bears... Finished second on the team in scoring with 17 goals and 23 assists for 40 points... Led the team in power play goals with eight... Had three three-point games on the season and 13 two-point games... Had two goals and an assist in Maine’s 5-0 win over Providence (12/3)... Followed that up with a goal and an assist the following night against the Friars (12/4) to finish the weekend with three goals and two assists for five points... Also had a pair of goals in games against Michigan State (10/15) and Boston University (1/28)... Had a goal and two assists in Maine’s 4-0 win over Merrimack (2/25)... Named a Maine Scholar-Athlete Award winner. 

IN 2009–10: Saw action in 38 games for the Black Bear... Finished sixth on the team in scoring with nine goals and 19 assists for 28 points...  Recorded a goal and two assists in a 4-2 win against Merrimack (1/9)... Picked up a pair of assists against at Union (10/10)... Had game-winning goals against BU (11/8), Providence (12/5) and UMass Lowell (3/13)... Picked up goals in back-to-back games against Boston University (11/8) and Northeastern (11/13)... Notched a power play goal versus Massachusetts (3/5)... Had a pair of assists against Boston University in the Hockey East semifinals (3/19)... Added a goal against Boston College in the Hockey East Title game... His goal at 14:59 of the third period pulled Maine to within one goal... Named a Maine Scholar-Athlete Award winner... Named to the Hockey East Academic Honor Roll.

IN 2008–09: Saw action in 38 games for the Black Bears during his rookie campaign... Led the team in power play goals with six.. Scored seven goals and added nine assists for 16 points... Registered an assist in his first two collegiate games in Alaska... Scored first career goal on the power play against Northeastern (10/25)... Notched a goal and added an assist in Maine’s 5-1 victory over Union (12/13)... Scored the game-winning goal in Maine’s 6-3 win over Boston University in the Hockey East Quarterfinals (3/14)... Also tallied a goal against the Terriers the following night (3/15)... Ranked tied for sixth on the team in scoring... Named a Maine Scholar-Athlete *Rising Star* and also named to the Hockey East Academic Honor Roll.

BEFORE MAINE: Assistant captain for John McDonald and the Hamilton Red Wings... Scored 42 goals and added 41 assists for 83 points during the 2007–08 season... Led the team in both goals and points during the season... Scored 32 goals and added 43 assists for 75 points during the 2006–07 season... Earned Rookie-of-the-Year honors... Named Athlete of the Year in both 2005–06 and 2006–07... Also played volleyball and golf in high school.

PERSONAL: A child development and family relations major... Born April 30, 1988 ... Son of Janis and Wayne Abbott... Has two brothers, Matthew and Taylor.
