Shawn Walsh Hockey Center
The Shawn Walsh Hockey Center serves as the year-round training, development, and operations home for Maine Men's and Women's Ice Hockey. Connected directly to Harold Alfond Sports Arena, the facility provides student-athletes with modern spaces dedicated to performance, recovery, preparation, and success on and off the ice.
As part of the University of Maine Athletics Facilities Master Plan, the Shawn Walsh Hockey Center underwent a comprehensive renovation and expansion in 2025 that added more than 13,000 square feet of new space while modernizing existing areas throughout the facility. The project was designed to enhance every aspect of the student-athlete experience, from training and recovery to academics, nutrition, and team operations.
