Garbett wins Steeplechase Debut at Sean Collier Invitational

Cambridge, Massachusetts – The University of Maine track and field program competed in the Sean Collier Invitational hosted by MIT on Friday April 17th and Saturday April 18th.
Results:
In the 1500m, Veselja Treacy would win the event with a time of 4:28.82, Kara Tschida finished 11th overall with a time of 4:40.69 and Meredith Walters finished 13th overall with a time of 4:42.48.
Ruby Krasnow would win the 5000m with a time of 15:59.16 winning by over 15 seconds. Ryan O'Connor finished 9thoverall with a time of 17:36.57 and Lauren Hamilton finished 10th overall with a time of 17:37.21.
In the 10000m, Katelyn Macnamara finished 6th overall as Maine's only competitor with a time of 41:23.29.
In the 3000m Steeple, Lila Garbett would win her steeple debut with a time of 10:57.02 and Kennedy Taylor finished 2ndoverall with a 11:15.06.
The Black Bears are back in action starting on Thursday April 23rd as they travel to Philadelphia to take on the Penn Relays.
