Boija, Breazeale earn Hockey East weekly honors

Boija was named Player of the Week, Breazeale named Defender of the Week

AMESBURY, Mass. – University of Maine's Albin Boija has been named the Hockey East Player of the Week while David Breazeale is the Hockey East Army ROTC Defender of the Week, as announced on Monday by the league.
 
Boija went 2-0-0 in backstopping Maine to the program's first Hockey East Tournament title since 2004. He posted a 1.99 goals against average and .923 save percentage on the weekend. Boija stopped 33 shots in Thursday's 4-3 double overtime semifinal win against Northeastern and then made 27 saves in the 5-2 championship game win over UConn. The Sundsvall, Sweden native earned William Flynn Tournament MVP honors as well as a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
 
Breazeale recorded two assists, three blocked shots and five shots on goal en route to a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Both of the captain's helpers came in the championship game, as he assisted on the game-winning goal and the fourth insurance goal of the 5-2 win.
 
This marks the fourth weekly honor of the season for Boija and the first for Breazeale.
