ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine athletics department invites all fans to arrive at Alfond Arena early on Saturday, Feb. 15 for a free pregame festival from 4-7 p.m. prior to the men's ice hockey game against New Hampshire in the Buffalo Wild Wings Border Battle.
The pregame festival will take place in the parking lot located at the main entrance of Alfond Arena with a stage show featuring local deejays and a pregame show, featuring the staff of Everything College Hockey and other special guests. Fans will have the opportunity to enjoy additional amenities – including fire pits, snacks, hot cocoa, s'mores, and non alcoholic beverages – as we ramp up the atmosphere to get ready for a big Saturday evening showdown with New Hampshire.Â
To allow fans to attend the 2 p.m. men's basketball game vs Vermont, the festival starts at 4 p.m. with deejays providing entertainment until 5 p.m. The 5-6 p.m. hour will feature special guests on stage, an inside look at the state of Hockey East along with a full preview of the Maine and UNH battle from Everything College Hockey, all mixed in with deejay services leading up to puck drop.
Admission to the pregame festival is free for all. The UMaine student section line process for gaining admission to Alfond Arena will remain the same as all other games this season.
It's also 'White Out' night at Alfond Arena with all fans in attendance receiving the annual 'White Out' t-shirt, courtesy of W.S. Emerson.
