UNH picked up a 1-0 win on Friday night.

ORONO, Maine – The #11/12 University of Maine men's ice hockey team fell to the University of New Hampshire, 1-0, on Friday night at Alfond Arena.

The teams were scoreless through the first two periods, with Maine holding a 17-5 lead in shots on goal after 40 minutes.

The Wildcats took a 1-0 lead four minutes into the third period with Cam MacDonald skating on to a loose puck at the edge of the neutral zone and breaking down for the clean finish. The Black Bears were unable to find an equalizer.

Maine had the 21-14 lead in shots on goal.
The Black Bears were 0-for-2 on the power play while the Wildcats were 0-for-1.
Mathis Rousseau made 13 saves in moving to 2-2-0 on the season.
The Black Bears are now 74-65-14 in the all-time series with UNH, including a mark of 5-4-3 under head coach Ben Barr.
The game marked the ninth consecutive sellout opening the season at Alfond Arena and the 11th straight dating back to last season.
