KINGSTON, R.I. -- The University of Maine men's swimming & diving team placed fourth with 617 points at the Harold Anderson Invitational, hosted by the University of Rhode Island.
Julian LaPietra turned in the top showing of the day for the Black Bears as he tied for second with a time of 46.01 in the 100-yard freestyle.
Joey Stauss followed LaPietra in the event, placing seventh at 46.35.
Matthew Bendoraitis placed sixth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:54.11 while
Noah Machristie came home sixth in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:07.89.
Calvin Comeau finished 10th in the 200-yard butterfly at 1:58.30.
Ryan Albert led Maine in the distance event, finishing 12th in the 1650-yard freestyle with a final time of 16:49.90.
Maine's team of LaPietra, Bendoraitis,
Scott Klein, and Machristie finished seventh in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:10.50.
