Women's Swim closes out season opening meet

ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine women's swim team closed out its season opening meet with New Brunswick on Sunday morning at Wallace Pool.
Bella Wilkinson posted her first career win with a title in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:03.22 while Eva Welsh added a win in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.13).
Emily Yorkievitz took top honors in the 100-yard freestyle (55.09) while Charlotte Hoover captured first place in the 100-yard IM at 1:02.05.
Hoover, Welsh, Macy Organ and Amelia Obszarny combined to win the 200-yard medley relay at 1:51.48.
Mia Poirier and Obszarny joined Noah Machristie and Julian Lapietra to win the mixed 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:34.22
Maine returns to action on Oct. 18 when it hosts Maine Maritime Academy at 1 p.m.
