Women's Swim & Dive places sixth at America East Championships

Black Bears break 400-yard freestyle relay school record
Lexington, Va. -- The University of Maine women's swimming & diving team placed sixth in the America East Championships with a final score of 374.50.
On the final day of competition, Maine's 400-yard freestyle relay team of Kayla Loughman, Kennady Hart, Mia Poirier, and Hannah Deighan took the silver medal in the event with a new school record time of 3:25.00.
Individually, Deighan led Maine with a fourth place showing in the 100-yard freestyle at 51:05. Loughman added a sixth place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke, touching the wall at 2:19.68.
Mia Poirier finished seventh in the 200-yard butterfly, touching the wall at 2:06.04.
Carmen Braden turned in Maine's top finish in the 1650-yard freestyle with a 14th place time of 17:49.00.
