LAST TIME OUT:
Orono, Maine -- Anne Simon's 33 point effort and Adrianna Smith's 17th double-double of the season helped Maine to a 67-48 victory over New Hampshire in the Border Battle, presented by Buffalo Wild Wings, on Saturday afternoon.

The win marked Maine's fourth in a row and its eight-straight in the head-to-head series with the Wildcats.

Simon, who knocked down four triples with 19 points in the first half alone, finished the day 5-of-9 from downtown. Her five triples moved her into 7th on Maine's all-time three-pointers made list with 171. Smith posted her seventh double-double in her last eight outings as she finished with 10 points and a season-high 17 rebounds. Smith, who notched her 600th career rebound in the win, now stands just eight points shy of 1,000. Sarah Talon added a season-high 15 point effort to go along with two key blocks.

For the second consecutive game, Maine finished with 10 or more triples as it went 10-of-29 from downtown. Maine dominated the boards, winning the rebounding battle for the 19th time this season by a 43-35 margin. The defensive effort marked the ninth time this season in which Maine has held an opponent to 50 points or fewer.

A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:
Maine, undefeated at home in conference play, carries a four-game win streak into Thursday night's action. Anne Simon, the reigning America East Player of the Week, recently became just the 10th player in program history to earn 10 player of the week awards after her 33 point output against New Hampshire. Simon, who leads the America East in scoring at 18.1 points per game, has totaled double-digit scoring in 16 of her last 17 outings. Simon's 1,773 career points place her 7th on Maine's all-time scoring list and 17th on the America East career scoring list. Adrianna Smith, who leads the America East in both conference only scoring (19.6) and rebounding (12.3), has double-doubles in seven of her last eight outings, has posted 17 double-doubles on the season which are third best in the country. Smith checks in eighth in the country in rebounding (11.3) with double-digit rebounding in eight of Maine's first 10 conference games. Smith enters action just eight points of 1,000 in her career. The Black Bears rank second in America East in 25th in the league with just 13.0 turnovers per game. Maine has given it away 11 or fewer times in five of its last seven outings with single digits turnovers in three games this season.
