Waterville, ME - The University of Maine women's swim and dive team holds second place after day one of the Maine State Meet. Maine ends day one with 284.5 points.
In the 400 yard mixed medley relay,Â
Kennady Hart,
Hannah Deighan, Nate Teerlinck and Cam Watelet finished in first place with a time of 3:35.78. That time was named the new pool record and the new meet record for the event.

Mia Poirier took home second place in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:35.65.
Nicolene Harkins took home silver in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:06.35.
Kennady Hart in the 50 yard butterfly took home first place with a time of 25.96.
In the 200 yard IM,
Marlee Canale finished in third place with a time of 2:10.17.
The 50 yard backstroke saw 3 Maine athletes finish in the top 5.
Madison Edwards finished third with a time of 27.31. Charlie Hoover and
Morgan Thompson tied for fifth just a tenth of a second behind Edwards with a time of 27.41.
Mia Poirier wrapped up day one for Maine in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 24.52, good for fifth place.
Day two starts at 10am on Sat Dec 7.
