
Men’s Track and Field Compete at UMass Flagship Opener

Amherst, MA - The University of Maine track and field men's team placed seventh with 42 points at the UMass Flagship Opener meet.
Conner Michaud led the way for Maine placing first in the 400 hurdles, putting him fourth on Maine's all-time top-10 list with a time of 54.42
Cole Martin had a strong showing at the meet placing second in the 100m (10.64) and ninth in the long jump (6.64m).
In the hammer, Nathan Holst-Grubbe brought home a second place finish (55.88m) and Lewis Roebuck was right behind him placing third (55.11m).
Jason Santa Cruz placed fourth in the javelin with a mark of 56.37m.
Maine had two fifth place finishes, one from Holst-Grubbe in the discus (48.30m) and Josh Sewell in the 200m with a time of 22.29.
The Black Bears also had two sixth place finishes from Ben Cotton in the long jump (6.76m) and Jon Prell in the shot put (15.63).
Zachary Beaton placed tenth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.50.
