About the Black Bears

• The Black Bears complete the regular season with a two game home series against the University of Massachusetts Minutemen. Last weekend, the University of Maine swept the Boston College Eagles. The Black Bears won Friday night by a score of 6-3, while also winning Saturday, 2-1.

• Continuing his torrid streak since Thanksgiving, Victor Ostman posted 62 saves over the two game home stint. The junior recorded his eighth and ninth 30+ save performance of the season with the weekend sweep of the Eagles. For his efforts, Ostman earned Hockey East Goaltender of the Week honors.

• Eight different Black Bears scored in the two victories. Aidan Carney started the scoring on Friday night, while Grayson Arnott capped off the weekend with the game winning goal on Saturday night. Arnott was tabbed Hockey East Rookie of the Week for his three point weekend.

• Junior alternate captain Lynden Breen leads the Black Bears in goals (17) and points (30). Senior alternate captain forward Ben Poisson holds the team lead in assists (16). Junior forward Didrik Henbrant (7 G, 8 A) leads all newcomers in points.

About the Minutemen

• UMass finished the 2021-22 season with a record of 22-13-2, ultimately falling in the first Round of the NCAA Tournament to #5/#6 Minnesota.

• The Minutemen return one of their top five scorers from 2021-22 in Scott Morrow, Ryan Ufko, and Garrett Wait.

• Luke Pavicich appeared in a 14 games last season. The sophomore posted a 1.62 GAA and .933 save percentage, while winning one game for the Minutemen.
