A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:
Maine is playing in its sixth consecutive game away from Orono as it comes fresh off a tight-knit battle with Indiana in a game played at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland. Anne Simon registered a career-high 34 points to go along with 11 rebounds for her 10th career double-double in the loss. Simon currently leads the America East in scoring at 18.1 points per game with double-digits in six of her eight starts. Simon not only ranks in the top five in scoring but also on the boards where she's averaging 7.3 rebounds per game, fifth best among league leaders. Simon, who recently moved into ninth on Maine's all-time scoring list (1,502) is one of only nine players in program history to eclipse 1,500 points in a career. Defensively, Simon ranks second in the league with 2.5 steals per game. Adrianna Smith, the reigning America East Player of the Year, ranks in the top-10 among America East leaders in scoring (8th-12.3), rebounding (1st-11.3) assists (5th-3.3) and double-doubles (1st-5). Smith is second in the country with five double-doubles on the season including one in each of her last three outings. Maine has won the rebounding battle in six of its last eight games, including narrowly being clipped in the category (36-35) against #17 Indiana last time out. Maine leads the America East at 38.8 rebounds per game with a league-high +5.1 rebounding margin on the season with 12.5 offensive boards per outing (2nd in America East).

A LOOK AT FORDHAM:
The Rams enter action 5-2 on the season and winners of each of their past three including a most recent 80-46 victory over Saint Peter's. Fordham will be playing its fifth consecutive home game and has registered wins over America East foes UAlbany and UMass Lowell this season. The Rams boast and impressive defense which is allowing 54.4 points per game while forcing an Atlantic-10 leading 20.7 turnovers per game with a A-10 high 11.4 steals per contest. On the flip-side, Fordham ranks 13th in the A-10 with 18.3 turnovers. Taylor Donaldson leads the Rams in scoring at 17.2 points per game to go along with 4.6 rebounds and a 36.8 percent clip from three-point range. Emy Hayford is adding 10.9 points  and 4.1 rebounds.

SERIES WITH FORDHAM:
Maine and Fordham are meeting for the fifth time in history and for the second consecutive season. The all-time series is deadlocked at 2-2. Fordham has won two-straight in the head-to-head history, including a 57-51 triumph a year ago in Orono. In that game, Maine was led by Adrianna Smith's 22 points and 11 rebound double-double while Olivia Rockwood added 11 points. Anne Simon missed the game due to injury. Maine won the first two meetings in the series including the first-ever meeting in 2000, 66-51. The game marks Maine's first trip to Fordham since 2001. Maine won in its last trip to Fordham, 52-39.
