Anne Simon has been named the America East Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday morning.
Simon guided Maine to a 2-1 week in which she averaged 19.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.3 steals.
The graduate student guard, who led Maine in scoring in each of its first three games, posted a pair of 20 point efforts in Maine's two wins. Simon recorded her first double-double of the season with 20 points and 10 rebounds in a win at La Salle before pouring in 27 points to go along with nine rebounds, five assists, and two steals in Maine's 69-48 victory over UMass.
Throughout the week, Simon extended her double-digit scoring streak to seven-straight while also recording the 500th rebound of her career. Simon set two more milestones over the week as she moved into 10th on Maine's all-time scoring list (1,415) and slid into 13th on Maine's all-time three-point field goals made list with 130.
Simon and the Black Bears returns to action on Tuesday when they play host to Rhode Island at 6 p.m.
