Burlington, Vt. -- The University of Maine women's track & field team placed eighth with 35 points at the 2022 America East Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by the University of Vermont.
The Black Bears were led by a pair of top five finishes by Paige Boudreau (shot put) and Erica Magnuson (discus). Bourdreau came home fifth in the shot put with a final mark of 12.51m while Magnuson's discus throw of 42.30m was also good for fifth place.
Behind Boudreau, the Black Bears posted a strong showing in the shot put event, with four placing inside the top-10. Claudia Damboise followed Boudreau with a seventh place finish in the event at 12.12m, narrowly edging out Elaina Panagakos who placed eighth at 12.11m. Rebekah Hunnewell-Dunphe finished 10th in the event with a throw of 11.70m. Hunnewell-Dunphe added a ninth place finish in the discus with a mark of 36.86m.
Ashley Martinez turned in the sixth best leap in the high jump after clearing 1.62m while Marlee Yoder led Maine in the distance events by taking 15th place in the 5000m with a final time of 18:52.64.
