Beaton leads Maine on day two of IC4As

Beaton runner-up in heptathlon

Boston, Mass. -- Zachary Beaton led Maine on day two of competition at the IC4As with a runner-up finish in the heptathlon. Beaton's point total was good enough to move him into sixth in the event on Maine's all-time to-10 list.

Beaton, who tallied 4,820 points in the event to finish second, captured a trio of top-three finishes in the heptathlon events. Beaton won the long jump at 6.83m, placed second in the high jump at 1.86m, and came home third in teh 60m hurdle with a time of 8.62.

Samuel Mills garnered a top-10 finish after crossing the line 10th in the 5000m event with a final time of 14:22.40, the second best time in the event in Maine school history. Luke Marsanskis placed 24th in the event at 14:45.46.

Kyle Jacques placed 15th in the long jump at 6.60m and placed 31st in the 200m prelim with a time of 22.21. Eamon Sweeney came in 19th in the 60m hurdle preliminaries at 8.66.

Alex Troxell turned in a 16th place effort with a time of 4:07.04 in the mile prelim while James Olivier placed 44th in hte 800m prelim at 1:57.74.
