Boston, MA - The University of Maine women's track & field team tallied multiple top ten finishes including a new school record in the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener Meet.
Paige Boudreau, Yasmen Farag, and Mackenzie Wilson each earned a first place win in the first meet of the 2022-23 season. Boudreau earned first in the shot put (12.47m), Farag finished first in the pole vault (3.55m), and Wilson got first in the weight throw (17.95m) and broke the University of Maine record in the women's weight throw.
Ashley Martinez earned second in the high jump (1.65m).
Stella Inman finished right behind Boudreau in the shot put earning second (12.44m). Claudia Damboise placed fifth overall (11.70m).
Maine had another top ten finisher in the pole vault by Olivia Marsanskis who finished ninth (280m). The Black Bears also earned another top ten finish in the weight throw by Rebekah Hunnewell-Dunphe who placed sixth overall (12.92m).
Lastly for the field events, Maine earned third in the triple jump by Emma White (11.31m) and seventh from Erika Lawson (10.97).
In the running events, Maine earned two more top ten finishes. Darcy Cochran earned fourth in the 60 hurdles (9.15) and Jessica Kroushl placed seventh in the 200 dash with a time of 26.33.
