Boston, MA - The University of Maine men's track & field team tallied thirteen top 10 finishes at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener Meet.
Jonathan Prell and Ryker Brown each captured two top ten finishes in the meet. Prell got second overall in the shot put with a mark of 15.82m and seventh overall in the weight throw with a mark of 14.76m. Brown placed fourth in the shot put (14.73m) and sixth in the weight throw (15.79m).
The Black Bears captured two more top ten finishes in the shot put with William Carrolton placing sixth (14.10m) and Gavin McGarrity placing seventh (14.08m).
Evan Russo placed third in the pole vault after clearing 4.25m.
Maine earned three more top ten finishes in the field events - Ben Cotton earned fifth in the long jump (6.58m), Lewis Roebuck placed fifth in the weight throw (15.84m), and Denis Sima Matha finished third in the triple jump (13.48m).
In the running events, Conner Michaud placed seventh in the 400 run with a time of 50.57. Zachary Beaton earned third overall in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.60. Lastly, Cole Martin placed third in the 60 dash with a time of 6.88.
