Boston, MA - The University of Maine men's and women's track & field teams are set to open their 2022-23 seasons at Boston University to compete in the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener Meet on Dec. 3 at 10:30 A.M.
The last time the Black Bears were in action was on May 14, 2022 at the New England Championships hosted by Bryant University in Smithsfield Rhode Island.
On the men's side, Jonathan Prell placed ninth in the shot put with a throw of 15.85m, eighth best on Maine's all-time top 10 list. Zachary Beaton placed fourth in the decathlon at 6,077. On day two, Beaton's top finish was third in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.77.
For the women, Rebekah Hunnewell-Dunphe cleared 38.26 meters in the discus throw to finish 18th in the event. Paige Boudreau took 14th in the shot put with a total distance of 12.50 meters. Emma White rounded out the day with a 13th place finish in the triple jump after clearing 11.06 meters.
