Women's Swim & Dive host Senior Meet with Holy Cross

Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine women's swimming & diving team dropped a 159-141 decision to visiting Holy Cross on Senior Day at Wallace Pool.

The Black Bears swept the relay events while adding four individual trophies on the afternoon.

Isabelle Irani had the strong showing of the day, coming home victorious in both the 100 yard butterfly (58.55) and the 200 IM (2:14.40) events.

Mia Poirer was victorious in the 500 freestyle with a winning time of 5:17.77 while placing second in the 200 freestyle at 1:56.84. Haylie Calver won the 1-meter dive with a final score of 253.73.

Kayla Loughman posted a pair of runner-up finishes, coming home second in the 100 breaststroke at 1:06.84 before placing second in the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.70. Madison Edwards took second in the 100 backstroke (1:00.65) and added a third place showing in the 200 back at 2:12.33. Morgan Bui touched the wall second in the 200 breaststroke at 2:29.32 before a third place finish in the 100 breaststroke at 1:09.02.

Sloane Gardner (2nd, 200 butterfly, 2:16.52) and Ashley LeClaire (2nd, 1m dive, 240.40) each posted runner-up tallies.

Maine's team of Edwards, Bui, Irani, and Loughman teamed up to take first in the 200 yard medley with a time of 1:49.74. Liz Stoelzel, Poirier, Alicia Littler, and Loughman captured gold in the 200 freestyle, touching the wall at 1:40.24.
