Six Newcomers Set to Join Men's Ice Hockey

ORONO, Maine – Six players are set to join the University of Maine men's ice hockey team for the upcoming 2021-22 season. Nolan Renwick, David Breazeale, Tim Gould, Grant Hebert, Dom Dockery, and Matthew Fawcett are set to suit up for the Black Bears next season.
 
Renwick had a tremendous final year with the Omaha Lancers. The forward tallied 41 total points (22 G and 19 A) over 53 games during the 2021-22 season. For his efforts on and off the ice, his teammates voted him the recipient of the E.H. Motto McLean Leadership Award (Lancers who best exemplify both on and off the ice, the qualities of dedication and leadership to his team, the club, and to the community). Before joining the Lancers in the USHL, Renwick played two seasons for the Notre Dame Hounds of the SJHL.
 
Breazeale was the Shreveport Mudbugs (NAHL) team captain in his final season and won the 2020-21 Robertson Cup with Shreveport. In 140 games in the NAHL, he tallied nine goals and 36 assists as a defender and was named to the NAHL All-South Division Team after the 2020-21 season.
 
Gould played in the SJHL, BCHL, and MJAHL before attending the University of Maine. He played 11 games and tallied one goal and five assists for the Amherst Ramblers of the MJAHL. Over Gould's 58 games with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the BCHL, he recorded seven goals and 27 assists as a defender.
 
Hebert played his freshman, sophomore, and juniors seasons at Robert Morris University. In his time at RMU, he finished his Colonial career with 10 goals and 12 assists over 50 total games. Hebert also recorded four multi-point games over his time in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania.
 
Dockery played for years at Merrimack College. He will play as a graduate transfer student this season. Dockery finished his Warrior career with three goals and 16 assists over 108 total games. Off the ice, he was named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team multiple times.
 
Fawcett played two seasons at Quinnipiac before he transferred to the University of Maine. He was named to the 2019-20 ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team and was also named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week on February 15. Fawcett recorded four goals and five assists for nine points over 34 total games.

The Black Bears will begin the 2021-22 season with a home exhibition against the University of Prince Edward Island on October 3. View the entire schedule HERE.
