ORONO, Maine – University of Maine hockey junior goaltender
Jeremy Swayman has been named to the CCM/AHCA All-American East first team. He becomes the first Black Bear to earn the first team honor since Spencer Abbott was named to the team in 2012.
Swayman, a fourth round draft pick of the Boston Bruins in 2017, finished his junior season at Maine with stellar numbers. He played in over 2,000 minutes and led the nation in saves with 1,099, a school record, also posting a 2.07 goals against average and his .939 save percentage was second in the nation. He faced 1,170 shots and allowed just 71 goals. He stopped more than 30 shots 25 times during the season, more than 40 twice and more than 50 (52) once. Swayman, who earned Hockey East Player of the Year and Mike Ritcher Finalist honors, is a Management major with a 3.38 GPA.
