Men's Track & Field Seventh After Day One at America East Indoor Championships

BOSTON, Mass. -- The University of Maine men's track & field team sit tied for seventh place after one day of competition at the 2020 America East Indoor Championships.
William Green turned in the top finish of the day for the Black Bears, tying for first-place in the pole vault after clearing 4.55m in a jump off. Sam Bonnevie continued the strong showing for Maine in the event, clearing 4.20m to finish sixth.
Kyle Jacques (6.83m) and Jeremy Bissel (6.83m) placed ninth and 10th, respectively, in the long jump.
Continuing with the field events, Lewis Roebuck turned in the top weight throw of the day for Maine as his toss of 15.17m was good for a seventh place showing.
Samuel Mills placed 11th in the 5000m run with a time of 14:59.25 and was followed closely by Jacob Terry who crossed the line in 15th place at 15:01.74.
Zachary Beaton turned in a seventh place finish in the heptathlon with 2,507 points. Beaton turned in a runner-up effort in the 60m dash with a time of 7.35 while placing third in the high jump, clearing 1.87m.
Maine wraps up the America East Indoor Championships on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.
