Black Bears Runners-Up at New Hampshire

Durham, N.H. -- The University of Maine women's track & field team placed second in a four-team meet at New Hampshire.
The Wildcats took first place with 226 points following by the Black Bears at 100 points. Vermont placed third with 71 points while Dartmouth, which only had its throwers compete, placed fourth with 29 points.
The Black Bears were strong in the field events and captured a pair of first place victories. Halle James won the 200m with a time of 27.62 and placed fourth in the 400m at 1:05.42. Oliviah Damboise registered Maine's second victory, taking first place in the triple jump with a leap of 11.20m (36'9").
Maine took third and fourth place in the weight throw with Sarah Vanacore (15.11m - 49'7") and Erica Magnuson (14.96m - 49'1") taking the honors, respectively. Ashley Martinez was the runner-up in the high jump, clearing 1.65m (5'5") while Lauren Williams placed third in the event with a jump of 1.55m (5'1").
Mikaella Sansoucie earned a spot on the podium in the pole vault, clearing 3.20m (10'6"), good for third place.
