Chase Pearson claimed the Frank Jones Award (Defensive Forward), the New England Hockey Writers Association announced on Thursday. It is Pearson's second major postseason accolade.
The junior captain totaled 78 points (37-41-78), a plus-18 rating and 132 penalty minutes in 107 games over three seasons. In 2018-19, Pearson notched a collegiate career-high 29 points (16-13-29) and ranked among Maine leaders with 16 goals, 13 assists, 29 points, a plus-21 rating. A team high eight multi-point games, the Alpharetta, Georgia native saw his season high three points come in a 3-1 victory at Hockey East rival Boston University on November 17th.
On March 19th, Pearson signed an entry-level NHL contract with the Detroit Red Wings. He is currently playing with the Grand Rapid Griffins of the American Hockey League.
