WAKEFIELD, Mass. – University of Maine men's hockey sophomore Jeremy Swayman picked up his second conference award of the week on Friday, when Hockey East announced that the goaltender has been named its Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Month.
Swayman went 5-2-1 with 2.86 goals against average and a .918 save percentage in the month of February. The Anchorage, Alaska native, who is unbeaten in his last five starts, had six 30+ save performances in February and now has 18 on the season.
Earlier this week, Swayman was named the league's Co-Defensive Player of the Week for his fourth (now five) conference award of the 2018-19 season. He was named Defense Player of the Week on 11/19, 12/3, and 1/28 previously to this week.
The Black Bears will travel to Amherst, Massachusetts to take on #2 UMass on Saturday, March 2nd. Puck drop for the Hockey East match-up is scheduled for 8:00 pm.
