
Swim and Dive Host Strong Weekend Against Dartmouth

ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine Men's and Women's Swim and Dive hosted Dartmouth University on Saturday, Oct. 26.
On the Men's Side for UMaine, Quintin Cheadle was able to pick up a first place finish in the 1000 yard freestyle, swimming a 10:08.49. Andy Sprague picked up a first place in the 50 yard freestyle, doing a 21:38 in the event. On the diving side, Ben Sturgis finished in first place in the 3 meter dive with a score of 218.33. The Men also finished with 15 top three performances across the events.
For the Women, Emma Blair picked up a first place in the 50 yard freestyle, swimming a 24.22. Caroline Strolic placed first in the 200 yard IM, swimming a 2:12.96, while also placing first in the 200 yard breaststroke, swimming a 2:24.36. Rita Chen placed first in the 200 yard backstroke, swimming a 2:12.94 in the event. PhilAnn Dixon won the 3 meter dive, scoring a 218.33. Collectively, the Women gathered 18 top three finishes.
The Women's Swim and Dive will travel to the University of Vermont on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 11 a.m. The Men will be in action during a combined meet on Saturday, Nov. 9 against Holy Cross.
