WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Hockey East announced Monday that University of Maine sophomore goaltender
Jeremy Swayman has been named the league's Co-Defensive Player of the Week after he recorded 74 total saves for the Black Bears against Hockey East rival Vermont.
The Anchorage, Alaska native tallied 34 saves in the Friday night's 2-1 victory in Burlington, while he stopped 40 shots in Saturday afternoon's overtime contest. This is Swayman's second conference award of the 2018-19 season. He was named Defense Player of the Week on 11/19 after he tallied 79 total saves at BU.
The Black Bears will travel to Plymouth, Michigan to take on the U.S. National Development team on Saturday, December 8th. Puck drop for the exhibition is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
