Box Score BANGOR, Maine -- Four Black Bears tallied double-figures led by
Blanca Millan's game-high 30 point effort as the University of Maine women's basketball team defeated Stonehill, 85-46, in exhibition action at the Cross Insurance Center on Saturday afternoon.
Millan finished the contest 11-of-21 from the floor with five three-pointers to go along with six rebounds and six steals. Millan was joined in double-digits by
Dor Saar who poured in 17 points, including 5-of-7 from three-point range, and a game-high seven assists.
Tanesha Sutton and
Maddy McVicar rounded out Maine's double-figure performers, each netting 13 points.
Maine's offense was clicking in all aspects as the Black Bears finished 31-of-62 from the floor (50.0), including a 12-for-26 (46.2) mark from beyond the arc. Maine assisted on 19 of its 31 makes while turning the ball over just 10 times.
Defensively, the Black Bears picked up right where they left off a year ago. Maine, which featured one of the top defensive units in the country, forced 21 Stonehill turnovers with 15 steals, producing 31 points off the 21 turnovers.
