Women's Cross Country Finishes 18 at New England Regionals

BOSTON, Mass—The women's cross country team posted an 18 overall finish at the New England Cross Country Championships in Franklin Park Saturday.
The Black Bears competed against 24 other New England colleges and had six runners participate in the 171 field race with an average team time of 20:06.86 on the 5k course.
Hayley Lawrence had the top Black Bear performance with an overall time of 19:21.91, followed by Haley Michienzi at 19:51.95.
Hope Gardner finished at 20:33.27 with Faith Gardner behind her at 20:44.25. Junior Eliza Bennett finished with a 21:01.63 time, as Sara Hunt rounded out the group with a 21:18.59 finish.
Maine's next meet is the America East Championships on Oct. 27 in Nashua, New Hampshire.
